The Fantastic Playgrounds of Spain: Airport Edition

Spain has figured out playgrounds, and I mean, they have really figured out playgrounds. Behold: the Spanish airport playground!

Yes you read that right, Spain has playgrounds in many of their airports (playgroundS, plural). It's the perfect stop right before boarding your transatlantic flight, or right after bouncing off your flight with a preschooler who has the energy of a person who has slept for the past 8 hours straight in the ultimate white noise machine.

Barcelona Prat airport has literally three playgrounds on the way from Customs to the BCN-MAD air shuttle boarding area (fun fact: there are 25 flights a day between BCN and MAD, the route holds the record for most flights to/from two destinations in a single day.)

You may also see some Guiri Parents on the Playground in the wild, getting one last Mahou in before the 10:50 am nonstop to JFK.

Logistics: These are scattered all over the terminals. The playground pictured below is the one in T4 in Madrid near the gates to transatlantic flights.

Notes: The biggest challenge will be convincing your child to board the airplane and leave the playground.

A full sized playground!
