Fun Indoor Activities for Preschoolers: The Seville Aquarium (Updated June 2026)
Updated Review, June 2026:
The Seville Aquarium continues to be a nice indoor activity for kids in Seville. It cost 49 euros for 2 adults and one child, which tbh I thought was a bit expensive but looking at previous years, is basically what it cost. It's a bit cheaper after 3 pm on Thursdays if you buy tickets online.
The Aquarium's AC is less high than in previous years. There is no longer a cafeteria, although there are drinks machines and like, a really sad vending machine with sandwiches outside the exhibits in the gift shop. If you want to buy marine animal themed stuffed animals, the gift shop has plenty. There is a bathroom before the ticket counters, and another bathroom in the exhibit in the Mangrove Swamp section.
We ate an early lunch and took a taxi to get there around 2 pm. Which is a good time for the aquarium because there were not many people (everyone lunching?) but the taxi can't get right to the door of the museum (no biggies, it gets within like 250 feet). I could have taken the 6 bus and saved some Euros but it was 40c outside so...taxi there, bus back. On the way home I took the 6 bus at the Pabellón de Brasil which was an easy walk through a little bit of Parque María Luisa. You can also take the 34 which drops you off near Puerta Jerez. Amazing how much cooler the park felt than the street!
Still an interesting aquarium and entertained my early elementary schooler for a solid 1.25 hours. I think this time the jellyfish were the most interesting. Or the octopus who cleverly hid inside a ceramic jar. Those guys are smart!
My Seville Aquarium Review from 2025(?) below
Where: a bit hard to get to on public transit, literally a warehouse type building down by the docks. Take a taxi. However, if I were better at buses, there are plenty that can drop you off on Avenida de la Palmera, and it's a fifteen minute walk from Puerta de Jerez (allegedly)
Cost: 18 euros adults, 13 euros for 4-14 year olds, free for under 4
Notes: this is a great activity for when it's very hot out because it's cool and dark and very well air-conditioned (for the benefit of the fish, but I'll take it).
I really enjoyed the Doña Ana National Park exhibit. I have always been curious what is underneath my feet in the playas de Huelva. I also enjoyed the Spanish Galleon shipwreck immersive audiovisual experience.
Word to the wise: there is a bathroom inside the exhibit at the very end, but it's a bit hidden away. They have a cafeteria and a gift shop. The cafeteria is very basic and not very good, think 7-11 style hotdogs and pretzels. I would bring snacks and be sure to eat beforehand.
