Fun Indoor Activities for Preschoolers in Madrid: Conde Duque Cultural Center

In my quest to find fun, indoor activities for preschoolers in Madrid*, I present to you the Conde Duque Cultural Center.

Two interesting options for preschoolers:

1. Children's section of the Madrid public library branch inside the Conde Duque Cultural Center

2. (Outside) The playground/basketball courts immediately adjacent. A rather large tot-lot style playground with the squishy rubber floors*

Conde Duque Playground. Downside: it's a also popular spot for people to run their dogs off leash right next to the playground

there is more to Conde Duque Cultural Center, but Don Loco's attention span is approximately 30-45 minutes so, no time to explore more.

Where: Near Ventura Rodriguez / Argüelles metro. If coming from Argüelles metro, walk down C/Alberto Aguilera, past the Corte Inglés and Universidad de Comillas and take a right at the Repsol Station. The Cultural Center is 2 blocks down on your right.

Cost: Free

Logistics: 18th-century-military-barracks-turned-cultural event space. The library is across the vast courtyard to the right. La sección infantil is toward the back, with two bathrooms, including a baby change station, tucked away into the back corner.

Fun for Preschoolers rating: 9/10. Don Loco enjoyed the books en español. The books were on low shelves and I liked the bins for books that are easy for preschoolers to page through. Plus, so many good cafés in the area.

*Squishy floors on playgrounds are the best. The worst are the sand playgrounds, gross.
