Fun Indoor Activities for Kids in Seville: Torre Sevilla

In my on-going quest to find fun indoor activities for kids in Spain, let's go to the tallest point in Sevilla, the Torre Sevilla.

The Torre Sevilla* is the only skyscraper in Seville. You can visit the Mirador de Atalaya, the viewing deck on the top (37th floor) of the Torre de Sevilla.

The Mirador is a coffee-shop/cocktail lounge with a very nice view--giant windows and a 360 view of Seville and the surrounding areas. Landmarks are clearly signaled, there is plenty of varied seating, it was quite a relaxing experience to sit with a coffee after doing a few laps of the circular viewing deck.

The viewing area is enclosed in glass and--this was a surprise--the top part of the tower is open to the air, so there is quite a breeze.

Lovely views of Seville and the surrounding countryside

All in all, the Torrre Sevilla was the opposite of the crowded, cramped, dark Empire State Building viewing deck. It is basically a hotel bar with a fantastic view (and in fact, the Mirador is part of the Eurostars hotel). Air-conditioning was top notch, too.

Logistics: Torre Sevilla is located in the Centro Comercial Torre Sevilla. Many busses stop in the Plaza de Chapina next to the tower (you can't miss it, lol), or you can walk across the bridge from Plaza de Armas. The entrance is located on the ground floor of the shopping mall area. You pay your admission fee, then take a nonstop elevator up to the 37th floor.

Admission cost varies depending on time of day--we went in late afternoon for Spanish snacking hour (4:30-8:30 pm) and it was 8 euros per adult, 6 euros per kid, free for kids under 5.

*Not to be confused with the Torre de Oro, or the OG tower of Sevilla, La Giralda.
